Dan Rees is a musician performing great American classics. His identity draws on classic typography from 1940's and 50's album art while keeping a restrained color palette of gray, black, and white. Iconic imagery of Dan combined with a unique form factor to make an interesting demo pack.
A simple web presence for Dan was also created. Visit the site.
The Tour de Grandview Classic is a criterium run every weekend in late June or early July. This is a collection of photos from the 2011 edition.
This work was done to promote an exhibition by local serigraph artist Amanda Meeker. The artist's concept for the show was "Present", and at the exhibition, all the artwork on display was hung by strings and given away one by one until there was nothing left. The concept of the promotional collateral was to continue the giving concept by creating a piece that could also be given away. The same information is presented on both sides of the card so that the side containing the artwork can be torn off and given to a friend. A poster advertising the show was also created, as well as vinyl type for the wall of the exhibition.

Created to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Tour de France traveling over the Pyrenées, the design gives a nod to the legend of the Tourmalet, blending the polka dots of the Tour's king of the mountains jersey with Alphonse Steines' now famous quote. The text translates into "Tourmalet pass, very good road, perfectly passable." This is hardly accurate, as Steines could barely make the trip over the Tourmalet by car in 1910 and was found on the other side of the pass by a search party in the wee hours of the mourning, dazed and bewildered. The tour would make it's first traverse over the mountains in the same year.

2011 marked the Tour de France's 100th traverse through the Alpes. This poster celebrates that journey, with typography taking on the form of the notorious switchbacks of Alpe d'Huez, the Galibier, and Izoard.
